Overview

This is the fourth book in Jemma Spark's Jill series which is a follow-on from the original Jill books by Ruby Ferguson. Jill Crewe returns to her childhood home, Pool Cottage in Chatton, Oxfordshire. Her best friend arrives back in the village, woeful and depressed having experienced a doomed romance. They get to meet up with old friends, including Diana and James Bush and Jill's cousin, Cecilia.
Other people from the past pop up, including Susan Pike, Amanda Applewood, and Mercy Dulbottle. Best of all Jill finds her childhood ponies Black Boy and Rapide. Jill rescues a horse that is being ill-treated and then goes steeplechasing.
